Stellar Rubble And A Dead Star
This artist rending shows a pulsar (4U 0142+61) that NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope has spotted. When the star entered supernova it spewed debris into space; some of which was caught in the gravitational pull of the pulsar. This fallback disk was spotted by Spitzer through the infrared glow given off by it. Some astronomers hypothesise that this accretion disk may form into planets at some point.
